Absolutely and the HMS parts aren't hurting them one bit. But the thing is, the actual team personel is all new and just put together during the off-season and that's what got people in shock. Yeah, it takes the equipment but you also need the people. And right now with how Tony has things, it's good both ways.

WTG Stewart-Haas on finishing 3rd and 4th at Darlington!! Did anybody see them after the race?

Oh no kidding, espically with Stewart. They may even contend for the championship which'll be a feat in itself for their first season.
Yeah, but it's something to be expected. That team that he got from DEI is a championship caliber contending team. Anybody remember 2006?

True though Tony also has talent as with Ryan so total cred doesn't go there. And Tony didn't have to hire them, remember.

Anyways, this is a circular debate that we could have forever so here I am to end it.

CONGRATULATIONS TO TONY STEWART & TEAM!!!! 8-) 8-) 8-)

Tony Stewart says Stewart-Haas Racing may field three Cup teams in 2010
By SceneDaily StaffFriday, June 19, 2009

SONOMA, Calif. – Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner/driver Tony Stewart isn’t ruling out the possibility that the organization may expand to three NASCAR Sprint Cup teams next season.

Stewart-Haas currently fields the Cup entries of Stewart and Ryan Newman.

Those drivers are both having exceptional seasons, as Stewart leads the standings and has one points win and Newman is fifth in points with eight top-10s.

“It’s a possibility, I guess,” Stewart said on Friday of fielding a third car in 2010. “The thing I made Ryan and [my crew chief] Darian Grubb and [Newman crew chief] Tony Gibson and [competition director] Bobby Hutchens a promise is that we weren’t going to try to grow too fast too soon and we wanted to make sure that we had two cars that were competitive each week and had a shot to win the championship and I’m proud of the fact that I feel like we’re at that point.”

All of Sprint Cup’s other top teams – Hendrick Motorsports, Roush Fenway Racing, Richard Childress Racing, Joe Gibbs Racing, Penske Racing – field at least three cars.

“If the right opportunity comes along and the right sponsor comes along, we would definitely entertain that at this point, I think,” Stewart said at Infineon Raceway. “That’s not something that I think five or six weeks ago that we would have felt comfortable saying but, I mean, I think right now we’re in a position where I think we would be very open to listening to potential sponsors and opportunities to possibly grow.”

Now this could be interesting with Truex looking for a new ride & Brad out of his deal with the #5 due to Mark.

Well, mark Truex off the map so that's leave Brad, but now also Danica as she made a visit over there. It'd be interesting to see Danica try it out as she'd bring publicity and maybe she'd be good at it - who knows. We saw that Hornish & Montoya have made the transition.

Hell no! She's just a pretty face that's making the marketing for her looks, not her driving. If we're going to have a female move up, they need to have the talent. Hense the words of Gabi Dicarlo & Christy Wallace. They both have proved that they have the talent so they'd be good choice for a Nationwide driver if they want a female. Good try, but we don't need that crazy sex appeal.

Now speaking for a driver for Stewart-Haas, what about Harvick? He was sayin before that he wanted outside of his contract.

Childress won't let Harvick out and Harvick now says he's commited, as with the Marty Smith interview you may have seen. Plus, Tony needs sponsorship and that doesn't look to be happening. The only way Tony was to get 3 teams was for Harvick to bring Shell over, but that's not happening so Tony shut the door on the opertunity 'cause no other sponsorship was to be found, hense why Brad didn't go that way.

With regards to Danica, she doesn't belong in a cup discussion anyway. She should be starting with a nationwide deal, but she signed with IRL anyway so forget that.

In your comments towards Harvick's commitment, is that the truth or is that just a lie to show team loyalty and look good for the camera? There's probably a deeper meaning to what he's saying, GP. You got to look at both sides of the coin.

10+ That's true as there hasn't been really much on track performance wise to back that up from Kevin.

Absolutely as maybe they're just saying that to keep everybody happy so therefore he can make his move out in 2010 with his sponsor and when his contract is actually up.
